How we work

The first consultation or meeting is always free.

We are flexible in the way we operate as we realise that not all customers are the same. In most cases we work on the basis of being given a realistic retainer, plus expenses. When direct selling is involved we also expect a commission based on success. The typical types of engagement are laid out below.

Retainer

We normally work on a retainer basis for a number of days, weeks or months – this can be a very cost effective way of adding significant expertise to your management team without having the burden of a full-time employee and works best when a number of issues need to be addressed. Typical engagements may be for 2-3 days per month over a number of months. We always allow a client to exit the agreement with one month’s notice.

Bespoke assignments

We also deliver bespoke contracted assignments – these tend to be short, sharp, intensive engagements – typically 5-30 days at an agreed contracted price. Examples would be the preparation of a Business Plan, a review of Company Strategy, Delivering the Vision and Mission Statement, a specific review of a particular business activity and/or working with various Management teams to better manage Projects.

Representation

For clients who need specific help (e.g. launching a new product or moving into a different market segment) we agree an upfront fee for a preliminary investigation and launch.

Following launch we can assist further in return for a small retainer and commission based on success.

Manufacturer representation

We have acted as a Manufacturer’s agent for over 10 years developing the European sales for a US based automotive spares company selling to large multinationals all over Europe. In addition we assist with Product Development to ensure it is in tune with the markets they serve.

UK/European Office

We have just been appointed as the main UK/European office for Acustrip Inc, a US based manufacturer and provider of diagnostic test strips for coolant, brake, power steering, water quality and DEF (AdBlue). Acustrip products are found in OEM distribution and have been approved by major auto and equipment manufacturers.
